Industrial Visit at VERKA MILK PLANT, Mohali

Department of Mechanical Engineering organized one day Industrial Visit at VERKA MILK PLANT, Mohali on 16 March , 2019 for 2nd & 3rd year students to impart practical knowledge in the subject of Thermal Engineering as well as to have on the site experience of witnessing a processing of milk products. Milk Union Mohali registered during 1978 and started functioning on Anand Pattern from Sept.�1979., Milk Plant Mohali is a front-line Milk Plant in Co-operative Sector having installed handling capacity of 5,00,000 litres of Milk per day. Apart from Liquid Milk supply (Full Cream Milk, Std. Milk, Toned Milk , Double Toned Milk & Skimmed Milk), this Plant also manufacture Ghee, Paneer, Curd, Plain Lassi, Kheer, Namkeen Lassi, Sweet Lassi, Shahi Dahi and Raita. To safe guard the interest of their esteemed consumers and milk producers, manufacturing of Verka sweets with pure Desi Ghee and Khoya in plant campus has been launched. etc. 25 students were accompanied by faculty memberEr. Avtar Singh Dhillon . Students were given exposure on operation of Raw Milk testing and processing, cold storage plant, and boiler section and maintenance strategies to be followed in the whole milk plant.
