District level 'Inspire Award Science Exhibition' held at KCPS

District level three-day 'Inspire Award Science Exhibition' was conducted in KC Public School from May 2, 2013 to May 4, 2013. 261schools from district participated in the exhibition from which 20 got selected for next round of state level competition.

This exhibition was organized by 'Sarv Shiksha Abhyan Authority' and 'Punjab School Education Board' as per the directions of Director General School Education, S. Kahan Singh Pannu. It is a joint venture of Central and State Government to evoke scientific temperament in school going students. A grant of Rs. 5000 has been given to each school by the govt. to motivate them to participate in this science exhibition. Sarv Shiksha Abhyan Authority' and 'Punjab School Education Board' are organizing such exhibitions in every district of Punjab which will eventually pave way for state level competition.

In Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar, KC Public School was selected for this science exhibition. The event took place under the guidance of District Education Officer, Mr. Dinesh Kumar and keen observation of District Science Supervisor, Mr. Surinder Agnihotri.

The exhibition was inaugurated by DEO Dinesh Kumar. After cutting the ribbon, he examined the exhibited science models and talked to the participating students.

Solar System, Bio Gas Plant, Global Warming, Plastic recycler, water Harvesting, Rain water harvesting, solar eclipse lunar eclipse, How human body functions, Non-conventional sources of energy , How to generate electricity and optical segment trigger were some of the models represented by various schools.

Talking to the media, DEO Dinesh Kumar said, �The main motive behind this effort of govt. is to bring science related awareness among the students and to give boost to their hidden potentialities and talent.� He said that after district level, state level competition will be organized for which 7.5% of participating models i.e. 20 models out 261 models will be selected.

On the second day, Assistant State Project Director Ms. Nirmal Kaur observed the models and also gave directions to students.

On the Last day, Deputy Commissioner Ms. Tanu M. Kashyap concluded the academic event and announced 20 selected students for next level.

She motivated the participating students and congratulated the winners. Interacting with students she advised them to think high and achieve high.

The competent jury panel was comprised of Ms. Rajni, Ms. Harsh Kapila, Principal Rakesh Kumar, Dr. Anil Kumar, S. Darshan Singh anf S. Satnam Singh.
