KCCIET conducts a seminar on 'SAY NO TO DRUGS'


Students of B Tech(CSE) semester VI conducted a seminar against drug abuse titled 'SAY NO TO DRUGS'. This programme was attended by Hon' CEO COL. Minhas, Prof R K MOOM(Principal, KCCEIT), Dr. Bhaseen(CEO KCCEd), Prof Kuljinder Kaur(Principal, KCCEd), Prof Gurnawaab Singh(Principal, KC Polytechnic College), Dr. B S Jaiswal (HoD, AS) and staff of KCCEIT and KC Polytechnic College.The show was hosted by Ashfaque Alam and Nidhi Thakur of CSE-VI. While addressing students Col MInhas said," Despite knowing and understanding the dangers of drug abuse, youngsters fall into this trap under peer pressure. So, it is the responsibility of the individual to choose their company and exercise will power to avoid substance abuse."

Students also shared their views. Sonam Angmo of Civil Engineering IV semester said that narcotics are ruining our young generation and it is upto us to take steps to save our future. Harpreet Kaur of CSE VI said that substance abuse has started to eat into the prosperity of Punjab like leprosy. Naresh Kumar presented a self written n composed song to highlight the problem of drug addiction.Students also presented a short play on the theme of 'SAY NO TO DRUGS'. Programme was rounded off with a screening of a short film by Ashfaque Alam.

While addressing students Dr. Bhaseen said,"Only a maladjusted and mentally ill person falls into the trap of substance abuse and a drug addicted student cannot write the destiny of the nation." In his vote of thanks Prof MOOM said," Will power and determination can save everyone from addiction to narcotics and other intoxicants." In the end Hon' MD(off) Mrs Shelly Lekhi Sharma gave away the certificates of appreciation to all the students for their hard work and good show.
