Travel and tourism is the fastest growing industry in the world creating more employment opportunities than most other industries. Thus KC Group of Institutions came up with the Institute of Hotel Management at its precious campus. The college is affiliated to PTU Jalandhar and recognized by AICTE, Ministry of Human Resources Development, Govt. of India

The entire infrastructure for the training restaurant, Training Kitchen, Front Office, Housekeeping etc. have been laid as per the international standards for training hospitality personnel. The institute is supervised by the Educational Institute of the KC institutes. The classrooms, library and the computer laboratories are well equipped and designed to cater to the student's requirements.

KC Institute of Hotel Management made its historical beginning in June 2005 slowly and steadily it has established itself as premier Hotel Management Institutes of the region .We have highly Educated & Dedicated teaching staff and best of the infrastructure without which this college would not have attained these milestones.

The Hospitality Industry is growing at amazing pace. Millions of jobs are generated directly or indirectly by the Hospitality & Tourism Industry.

Hospitality Management is a profession that requires a diverse range of skills, at KCCHM. Scope

Hospitality Industry is one of the fastest growing industries of the world. It employs more people directly or indirectly than any other industry of the world. This industry is growing at a rate of 20% per year and to keep pace with this unparalleled growth, the human resource requirement is also increasing. The liberalization policy of government has enhanced the pace of economic activities and has given boost to hospitality industry.

The prevalent and upcoming star category hotels are desperately scouting for well trained professionals particularly at the managerial and supervisory positions. The employment opportunities in this sector is not only restricted to hotel and restaurant sectors but other allied sectors like Hospital Catering, Airlines Catering, Ship Catering and Industrial Catering etc. In fact, with the increasing demand of qualified professional the current supply would far outstrip the demand. To tap the potential, K.C. Institute of Hotel Management has started 4 years BHMCT course which is duly approved by All India Council for Technical Education, Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India and it is affiliated to Punjab Technical University, Jalandhar.

KC Group is running Holiday Inn Chandigarh & Panchkula (A Unit of IHG).The Meritorious students will be absorbed in the services of the KC Group of Hotels and Resorts.

Library

As Library plays a very important role for the overall academic development of student and it is the backbone of any academic institution. Therefore, to provide the bestFacility to our students the college has got a big and spacious library equipped with best books, journals, and periodicals. It has got more than 1000 textbooks related to various subjects of hospitality industry. The library subscribes to many journals national as well as international. It also subscribes to many newspapers, CD’s and magazines for the general knowledge of students.

It has also got a broadband Internet connection and Multimedia facility for the benefit of our student community. To provide the readymade notes to students a Xerox machine is also installed. The library has staffed competent and professionally qualified persons to give the best to its students. The library functions with an open access system and it shall be fully computerized soon.

Computer Centre

The role of Information Technology in a professional course cannot be underestimated.

So keeping this in view college has got a computer centre with more than 100 latest computers installed for the exclusive use of its students. Computer centre has also got the Internet facility for sharing knowledge with others and accessing various websites for updating their skills.

Classroom
The college has got well designed classrooms developed as learning halls to create an atmosphere of professional management training equipped with audio visual aids such as VCR, TV, OHP, Slide projector and LCD projector etc. They help in effective presentation of lectures and thus help for better conceptual growth of students.

Transportation
The College has a fleet of buses to provide safe and comfortable conveyance to its students coming from towns and villages within the radius of about 30 km from Nawanshahar.

It is also proposed to start daily bus service from students commuting from Chandigarh, S.A.S Nagar and Panchkula.

Hostel
The college has a very good hostel facility for outstation students for both boys and girls.



The hostel is equipped with all the basic facilities for safe and comfortable stay of its students. The hostel has also got a very good mess facility with hygienic and balanced food provided to its students under the supervision of trained professionals.

Rules

College Rules

  1. The students are advised to keep themselves aware of the College rules. Ignorance of rules shall not be an excuse for violation.
  2. Loud talking, loitering or congregating in the verandas, being a source of distraction and annoyance to others, is not permitted.
  3. Late arrival and early departure at or from a class are recorded as absence from the class.
  4. Students are expected to observe decorum and pay due respect to the faculty and supporting staff. Every member of the staff has authority to forbid disorderly behavior with in the college.
  5. Students will not operate any machinery / equipment without the permission of the instructor.
  6. Use of mobile phone is strictly prohibited. Strict disciplinary action (as decided by the principal) would be taken against student found using a mobile phone inside or outside the classroom.
  7. No responsibility will be accepted by the college for any injury, loss or damage to the personal articles of students.
  8. The students at the college require attention and diligence. A student neglecting his / her studies and having unsatisfactory progress will be given two warnings after which if he/ she fails to improve, he/she will be liable for expulsion from the college.
  9. Students shall observe all safety precautions. The college is not responsible for any accident, of whatever nature, in the college, hostel, workshop, playground and during summer training and industrial training or educational tour/trip.
  10. Students are prohibited to take part in ragging, politics or go to the press. Any student is found violating the rule, he/she will be expelled from the college.
  11. The students will compensate damage to college/ hostel property/furniture caused by neglect or willful damage.
  12. Students may note that fees once paid will not be refunded/ adjusted.
  13. Students must keep their identity cards always with them and shall show the same on demand by any faculty/official of the college.
  14. Students are permitted to form and carry on only such associations or clubs at the college as have been sanctioned by the Director-Principal.
  15. Students claiming benefits/ concessions on medical grounds are required to submit medical certificate from a govt. hospital or dispensary. The certificate should be submitted by student concerned within a week of rejoining the College after illness. However in such cases there will not be any relaxation in the minimum attendance requirement to appear in the PTU semester examination.
  16. Any student found under the influence of intoxication of alcohol/drugs in the College or in the Hostel is liable to strict disciplinary action which may be up to expulsion from the College.
  17. The name of the student who fails to submit the university examination form for the semester in which he/she is studying without the approval of the Director-Principal shall be removed from the College rolls.
  18. The students are advised to see regularly the notices displayed on the College/hostel notice boards. The notice displayed on these notice boards shall be deemed to have been served on the students.
  19. Any student who fails to clear all the dues including hostel shall be debarred from appearing in semester examination.
  20. The Director-Principal reserves the right to modify any of the College rules as and when necessary. The decision of the Director-Principal in all matters shall be final.
  21. At the time of admission a student has to undergo a medical examination and seek the medical certificate issued only by Medical Certificate officer, KC Group of institutions.
  22. In case a student leaves the college before completing his/her studies, he/she is required to seek a final clearance certificate .
