Minimum Eligibility Qualification / Criteria for Admission:

1. i) For getting admission to the 1st year Diploma Engg/ Architecture Courses institution, a candidate must have passed Matriculation Examination or equivalent examination with the following essential subjects
a) English
b) Mathematics
c) Science

ii) The admission shall be on merit of marks obtained in the “PAT” conducted by H.P.Takniki Shiksha Board, Dharamshala in the month of May.

2. For getting admission to 1st year Diploma in Pharmacy:
A pass in any of the following examinations with Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Mathematics:
i) Intermediate examination in Science
ii) The First Year of the three-year degree course in Science
iii) 10+2 examination (Academic Stream) in Science
iv) Pre-degree examination
v) (a) Vocational Higher Secondary Education of Kerala from 1994 –95 with Group A&B only with following subjects:
Group with non-vocational subjects:

Group – A NCERT Syllabus in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics
Group – B NCERT Syllabus in Physics, Chemistry, Biology

(b) Higher Secondary examinations (11th Standard) conducted upto 1989 by Board of Secondary Education, Rajasthan, Ajmer.

(c) Intermediate examination with Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology

(d) 12 Years Higher Secondary, Part-II examination (science academic stream with Physics, Chemistry, Maths or Physics, Chemistry, Biology) of Jammu & Kashmir State Board of School Education.
(e) Second Secondary Examinations of the Ministry of Education, State of Kuwait with 10+2 (Academic stream) in science of India.

(f) 12 Years Ethopian School Leaving Certificate of Ministry of Education, Ethopia with 10+2 (Academic Stream) in science of India.

(g) 8+4 of Kenya certificate of Secondary Education issued by Kenyan National Examination Council with 10+2 (Academic Stream) in science of India.

Note:
“Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by National Open School, New Delhi” and Pre-University examination (New Scheme) of Andhra University with Physics, Chemistry & Maths or Biology have been debarred for admission to Diploma in Pharmacy by PCI vide letter No.14-2/2006-PCI-5763-6337 dated 13 June,2007.

 

Sports Activity

Sports and games are a regular activity at the K.C. Polytechnic College and conducts matches from time to time. The institution has sufficient material for conducting variety of sports activities. The institution also sends students to participate in inter Polytechnic Sports programmes.

Cultural Program

The institute organizes regular cultural events such as Bhangra & Gidha & also sends teams to participate in Inter-Polytechnic Cultural Competitions.

Cafeteria

The institute has a well-furnished Cafeteria with all the amenities. Eatables are available reasonable rates fixed by the management.

RULES & REGULATIONS SPECIFIC TO KC POLYTECHNIC

Certain rules which are specific to the KC Polytechnic are given below. Rules that are commonly applicable to all students of the KC Group of Institutions, Pandoga are given in the rules section of this Prospectus. Students of KC Polytechnic are advised to familiarize and observe these rules during their stay in the campus.

Curriculum:

As per norms of H.P.Takniki Shiksha Board, Dharamshala the Institute follows semester system comprising of six semesters.

Session:

The Academic Session begins on 25th July every year.
The Session is divided into two Semesters as under:
1st Semester: 25th July to 27th November
2nd Semester: 17th January to 20th May

Attendance:

Attendance: - As per State Board norms, 75% attendance is compulsory. The students who will have attendance less than 75% will not be able to appear in the exams.

Hours of Attendance: 9:A.M to 5:P.M with one hour lunch break. Efforts will be made to maintain above timings throughout the year but as per circumstances the institution Principal can change or amend the above timings.

Class Fine:

The student who will be absent in the class without the permission of Principal, will be fined Rs.5/- per period.

Striking Off Name:

Any student who will remain absent for ten working days, his/her name will be struck off from the institution Roll. He/She can be re-admitted by submitting his/her request application & the student can be re – admitted by paying the fees of Rs. 1,000 in the same semester.

Cancellation of Registration :

Any student who remains continuously absent for one month, his/her registration will be cancelled, He/She will be admitted in the same semester the following year.

Re- admission:

Any student who has been debarred on account of shortage of required lectures from appearing in the exams, he/she can be re-admitted in next year in the same semester.

Observance of Rules & Regulations:

All the students are bound to follow all the rules & regulations of the H.P. Takniki Shiksha Board.

Holidays & Vacations:

Holidays :
a) All gazetted holidays as per calendar issued by Himachal Govt.
b) Every second Saturday of each month.
c) Three holidays can be granted on account of Special occasions as per the discretion of the Principal.
Vacations :
i) Winter Vacations:- 25th Dec to 16th Jan
ii) Summer Vacations:- 17th June to 23 th July

All the students should keep two sets of summer & winter dress.

Training and placement is very important activity to enhance the interaction between the industry & the institution.

The Training and placement cell arranges for practical training of the students with industry in order to complete the Diploma requirements.

The students are also sent to various industries to familiarize with their production techniques.

The cell is fully dedicated for arranging the placement of the outgoing final year students and organizes the campus interviews before the final Examination of the last semester.
