Welcome to KC Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences

ABOUT THE INSTITUTE:

KC Institute of Pharmaceutical sciences is being established as a part of KC Group of Institutions, Pandoga, Una (H.P). The institute has a pledge to nurture the requirements of various multinational and national Pharmaceutical companies and to deliver dynamic and creative professionals.

The faculty of pharmaceutical sciences, KC Group of Institutions is situated on a vast campus along with other institutions of the KC Group on Una Hoshiarpur Road at the footsteps of Bankhandi Hills about 11Kms from Una and 25 Kms from Hoshiarpur.
The institute shall be affiliated to Himachal Pradesh Technical University, Hamirpur and recognised by State Government of Himachal Pradesh.

OBJECTIVES:

+ To shape up the students in to highly competent Pharmacists and quality control & manufacturing chemists.
+ To provide value added education and mould the students with science and technology.
+ To provide industrial professionals, academicians, research scholars and train them with extracurricular activities and communication skills.

KC Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences was established in 2010 at Pandoga, Distt- Una (H.P) in the vast campus established by Shri.Prem pal Gandhi in the cherished memory of his late father Shri.Kushal Chand Gandhi.

The Group works under the dynamic supervision and guidance of Shri.Prem pal Gandhi and his illustrious son, Mr.Hitesh Gandhi- the Vice chairman of KC Educational & Social Welfare Society. The institute has the distinction of being one of the pioneer Pharmaceutical Education Centre of the state and has to its credit of having a highly qualified, experienced and dedicated faculty which would turn out numerous graduate pharmacists who would be engaged in due course of time in different facets of the profession like Industry, Education, Drugs Control Administration, Retail and Wholesale business and other related fields.

The Institute has ambitious plan to start Post Graduate Courses in Pharmacy. The institute was earliar affiliated to Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla so far and is being affiliated to newly created Himachal Pradesh Technical University at Hamirpur from now onwards and is approved by both AICTE & PCI. The institute is having a galaxy of Post Graduate Pharmacists on its Faculty and few of them are pursuing their doctoral programme and publishing research papers, participating in various professional conferences and also professing as mentor & guide to their pupil.

In the recent past, the Institute conducted a National Conference on Standardisation of Herbal Products and Analytical Pharmacognosy which was attended by about 150 deligates including more than 25 renowned Pharmacognosists led by the President of Society of Pharmacognosy- Dr. C K Kokate, the Vice- chancellor of KLE University, Belgaum.

Activities

Co-curricular activities play an important role in the life of students and they keep themselves engaged in a host of such activities. Sports and cultural activities are also part and parcel of the campus life. Details of these activities are as under:

Games and Sports:

Sports meet is an annual fixture of college to compete in athletic events, cricket and fun sports. The aim of the event is to give the students an opportunity to show their skills, abilities and talent in outdoor activities.

Quiz Competition:

The College organized a  Quiz in which students of the college were tested in general awareness as well as their awareness in respected fields.

Cultural Activities:

The College celebrated the Fresher’s Day in a befitting manner. Existing students of the college welcomed the new students who joined in various classes. The event organized by the seniors witnessed cultural activities performed by both the seniors and juniors.

Industrial Visits:

Industrial visits are an integral part of the college in which all the students participate. The industrial visit provides an insight into how companies work and also provide the students useful information related to the curriculum which cannot be visualized during classroom lectures.

Seminars:

Seminars by prominent personalities are conducted regularly in the campus for over all personality development of students.

Rules

ELIGIBILITY (QUALIFICATION):

Criteria for Admission to B. Pharmacy Course:

The candidate should have passed 10+2 (class XII) examination or its equivalent from a recognised Board /University with Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects and any optional i.e.(a) Biology (b) Mathematics (c) Computer Science (d)Biotechnology. Candidates who have passed 10+2 (science stream) from National Open School (NOS) New Delhi are not eligible for admission in B. Pharma Course.

Admissions will be made strictly on the basis of merit of marks obtained in the Entrance Examination conducted by H.P. University Shimla for the Session 2010-2011. In case the result of Entrance test is not declared by HPU Shimla well in time i.e. before the last date of submission of application forms, the candidate will have to furnish a copy of the result card of entrance test for B. Pharmacy Course through fax within 5days of declaration of result. Management seats (including seats remaining vacant after last round of counselling by competent authority in Private Un-aided Pharmacy colleges)

The selection of candidates will be made on in following manner
i. On the merit of entrance test conducted by HPU for Session 2010-11
ii. In case the seats remain vacant after exhausting /availing the merit, then seats will be filled up in order of merit to be determined on the basis of aggregate of marks obtained in PCB or PCM in 10+2 examination provided the candidate fulfils the minimum eligibility

Fee Structure:

The fee shall be charged as per norms of HP Technical University Hamirpur and the notification issued by State Government of Himachal Pradesh. The fee may be deposited either in cash with the office or by Demand Draft in favour of KC Educational & Social Welfare Society payable at Pandoga Account no of Society 1733002100001578.
